The singer who turned 55 this year, mentioned about her loss in a statement on Monday, August 26, 2024. But sadly, details on the cause of their death and the specific dates the incident occurred, were not shared.

The all-time favorite record producer expressed her heartfelt loss of the painful demise of the passing of her mum, Patricia, and her sister identified as Alison, on same day over the weekend.
In Maria’s statement on Monday, 26 August, she said; “My heart is broken that I lost my mother this past weekend”.
“Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister also lost her life on the same day”.
She talked about the deep love she had for her mother, but further explained that they once had a very complicated relationship.
Her mother Patricia who was 87years old before she passed on, was an opera singer and vocal coach of Irish American-descent. Maria also stated that she had a very rough relationship with her mother and her said late sister. She confirmed that things were just starting to get better, reason she took a time out for family and paid visits.
Maria is regarded as one of the most successful singer globally. She holds the record for the most Billboard hot 100 number one single, and has sold over 220 million records worldwide over the years.
She has also served as a judge for the American competition ‘American Idol’.
The Grammy-winning singer who shared how heartbroken she was, said she’s feels blessed that she got to spend time with her mum over the weekend and had requested for privacy.
